Our Blend
Your beard deserves more than a basic oil.
Our custom carrier blend is the foundation of every Wildstar beard product, engineered to hydrate, protect, and strengthen both your beard and the skin beneath it. Each oil is all-natural, ECOCERT/COSMOS certified, and chosen for real world performance in extreme climates.
Our blend is ~70% conditioning MUFAs, ~20% lightweight saturates, and ~10% protective fatty acids, delivering deep softness, clean absorption, and all-weather resilience. Skip to the bottom of this page to see a detailed breakdown.
Below is a breakdown of every ingredient we use and why it matters.
Camellia Seed Oil
Refined: Cold Pressed
Role: Deep conditioning, moisture sealing, skin-soothing
The core of our blend, Camellia Seed Oil is a nutrient-dense, antioxidant-rich oil long used for skin and hair vitality. Its high oleic acid content (68–78%) closely resembles our natural sebum, making it exceptionally compatible with both beard hair and facial skin.
Benefits for beard & skin
Softens and smooths beard hair for less frizz and breakage
Helps detangle and improve overall manageability
Creates a breathable moisture barrier
Soothes irritation and dryness beneath the beard
Supports healthy-looking, well-hydrated skin
Naturally rich in Vitamins A & E and protective polyphenols
Meadowfoam Seed Oil
Refined: Cold Pressed
Role: Moisture retention, antioxidant support, blend stabilization
Meadowfoam Seed Oil is one of the most stable oils on the planet. Its long-chain fatty acids allow it to lock in moisture exceptionally well, while its natural glucosinolate derivatives help support collagen and offset UV-related stress on the skin.
Benefits for beard & skin
Seals moisture into hair and skin without heaviness
Smooths brittle or dull beard hairs
Adds a soft, silky feel and natural sheen
Helps maintain a healthy-looking complexion under the beard
Extends the shelf life and integrity of the entire blend
Fractionated Coconut Oil
Refined: Esterified
Role: Fast absorption, light hydration, fragrance distribution
Fractionated Coconut Oil contains only the lightest medium-chain triglycerides (Caprylic/Capric), making it thin, fast-absorbing, and non-greasy, perfect for a beard product that absorbs cleanly.
Benefits for beard & skin
Helps improve the feel and appearance of damaged beard hairs
Absorbs quickly for a clean, lightweight finish
Helps distribute and carry fragrance for longer-lasting scent
Enhances slip and spreadability of the blend
Provides gentle, lightweight hydration
Abyssinian Oil
Refined: Cold Pressed
Role: Natural silicone-like smoothing, anti-frizz, conditioning, heat prep
Abyssinian Oil is the superhero of our blend. Its high erucic acid content (up to 58%) gives it a lightweight, silicone-like performance that boosts shine, softness, and manageability without any buildup.
Benefits for beard & skin
Gives the beard a fuller, healthier appearance
Excellent at reducing frizz and improving texture
Ideal as a pre-heat or styling oil
Absorbs quickly with a smooth, clean finish
Helps maintain a clean, healthy beard environment
Rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C & E for overall beard vitality
Using Abyssinian Oil daily is like giving your beard a multivitamin.
Jojoba Oil
Refined: Cold Pressed
Role: Oil balancing, skin calming, moisture regulation
Jojoba Oil is a liquid wax ester, meaning it mimics your skin’s natural sebum more closely than any other oil. This makes it unmatched for balancing the skin beneath your beard and preventing dryness or excess oil.
Benefits for beard & skin
Helps balance natural oil production (great for dry and oily skin)
Soothes irritation, redness, and beard itch
Softens coarse beard hairs and improves smoothness
Naturally helps reduce beardruff by supporting a clean environment
Non-comedogenic and friendly for jawline/neck areas
Strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier in harsh weather
Forms a light, breathable layer on beard hairs to help lock in hydration
Extra Virgin Castor Oil
Refined: Cold Pressed
Role: Protective barrier, soothing, moisture retention
Castor Oil is thick, rich in Vitamin E, and highly protective, perfect for shielding both beard and skin from harsh weather. Despite its viscosity, it has a low comedogenic rating and does not clog pores.
Benefits for beard & skin
Creates a natural protective shield against wind, cold, and dirt
Helps soothe early beard itch, dryness, and flakes
Draws moisture into the beard with humectant properties
Conditions the skin to support a fuller, healthier-looking beard
Ricinoleic acid (90%) helps soften and strengthen beard hairs
Olive Squalane
Olive-Derived: Ultra-Refined
Role: Lightweight emollient, silky glide, moisture retention
Olive Squalane is a highly stable, ultra-light emollient that closely resembles the skin’s own natural oils. Because human sebum naturally contains squalene (which decreases with age), squalane helps replenish what the skin beneath your beard may be lacking.
Benefits for beard & skin
Enhances absorption of the entire oil blend for deeper hydration
Leaves beard hair feeling exceptionally smooth and soft
Helps prevent moisture loss by supporting the skin’s natural barrier
Extremely lightweight, never greasy or heavy
Adds natural slip and a subtle, healthy sheen to the beard
Helps improve comfort for dry, tight, or sensitive skin beneath the beard
Squalane gives the blend its premium “silky glide” feel and improves overall performance.
Vitamin E MT-50 (Mixed Tocopherols)
Non-Synthetic: Natural Antioxidant
Role: Stability booster, antioxidant protection, skin conditioning
Vitamin E MT-50 is a natural form of Vitamin E used to help extend the freshness and stability of plant-based oils. It also provides beneficial antioxidant and skin-supportive properties, making it valuable for both beard and facial skin.
Benefits for beard & skin
Helps slow oxidation and extend the life of the oil blend
Provides antioxidant protection against environmental stress
Softens beard hair and enhances conditioning
Supports the skin’s moisture barrier beneath the beard
Helps soothe and calm dry or irritated areas
Vitamin E is the finishing touch that keeps our blend stable, smooth, and effective from first drop to last.
